In a moment, in a moment the summer stage of Laravel Poland MeetUp!
Fans of the Laravel framework and not only, we invite you to the first stationary edition of Laravel Poland MeetUp SUMMER VIBES in two years!

Date: August 4, 6:00 PM,
Location: HALA Świebodzki - bar & food court in Wrocław.

Event plan:

  • Integration - let's get to know each other better, talk about projects, exchange experiences and simply have a nice time.
  • Interesting lectures - our speakers will share knowledge about the latest trends and tools in the world of Laravel.
  • Quiz - the opportunity to test your programming knowledge in our special quiz.
  • Programming puns - how would you present lazy collections or Jetstream?

During the meetup, our CTO - Krzysztof Rewak, will invite you to a dialogue about what we don't like about Laravel. Infamous facades? Stiffening on the Laravel way? Inconsistent typing in code? Anti-opensource ecosystem or maybe something else? We count on an interesting and controversial discussion!

See you soon!

June is a time of dynamic changes in Blumilk! New projects, new challenges and new people on board. For us, this is a great reason to celebrate and integrate.

Almost the entire team met by the lake, where we organized a company integration event. We have been working together for a while now, but we will always find time and willingness to strengthen bonds and recharge our batteries together. We are glad that our team is growing and we count on even more such shared moments in the future.

With new strength, we are entering probably the most intensive month in our history. June promises to be full of work, but also successes... Stay tuned... Sleeves rolled up, we are ready!

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Programmers are usually generally aware of how the MIT license works. What should we do when we start including more libraries in our project, and each of them has a different license? Can we make money on such programs? Do we have to add the names of the creators of the dependencies used? Are we at risk of legal liability?

Joanna Rewak from the Legal Adviser's Office Joanna Rewak, a lawyer at Blumilk, will dispel any doubts about open source licenses using the Laravel framework and its popular dependencies as an example during Laravel Poland Meetup #22, on May 19, at 6:00 PM

Joanna will discuss the steps that need to be taken to ensure license compliance and avoid legal problems:

  • MIT License - using the MIT license and what are its limitations.
  • License diversity - How to deal with projects containing libraries with different licenses, such as GPL, Apache, BSD, and others.
  • Software commercialization - Can we make money on programs containing open source software and what conditions do we have to meet?
  • Copyright - When and how do we need to acknowledge the authors of dependencies used in our projects?
  • Legal risk - What are the potential consequences of violating open source licenses and how to avoid them?

See you on May 19, at 6:00 PM online or in person, in our office in Legnica.

We all know that applications created on Laravel easily handle HTTP requests. Just add one line in the router, create one class in the controller folder and it basically works. How does routing really work? What are middlewares? Why are form requests so convenient? How and why does the MeetupController::class string in api.php create an instance of the controller class?

These and other questions will be answered by our CTO - Krzysztof Rewak, during the 21st edition of Laravel Poland MeetUp, on March 10, at 6:00 p.m.

We invite everyone interested in Laravel. Regardless of the level of advancement, everyone will find something for themselves and gain valuable knowledge.
You can join us online, as well as meet us in person at our office in Legnica.

It's worth registering in advance, because places are limited ;) http://bit.ly/lpm21

See you there!

Did you know that the Witelon State University in Legnica (formerly the Witelon State University of Applied Sciences in Legnica) publishes its own bulletin? We already know and they even write about us! In the latest issue, you will read, among other things, about our cooperation with the University.

Our commitment to education
As part of the improvement of the Computer Science and Production and Logistics Engineering courses conducted at the Faculty of Technical and Economic Sciences, in the current winter semester 2021/22, our employees conduct classes in:

  • Programming project management, where they present a practical approach to project management, which they teach students, preparing them for real challenges in the IT industry.
  • Object-oriented programming - key concepts and techniques of object-oriented programming, which are the basis of modern software development.
  • Databases - theory and practice of database management, which are an indispensable element of every larger IT project.
  • Mobile device programming - creating applications for mobile devices, which is extremely important in the era of ubiquitous smartphones and tablets.
  • Computer networks and others - the basics and advanced aspects of computer networks, which are the backbone of modern IT systems.

It is an extraordinary experience for us to be able to lead young people towards a path that we ourselves have also been on. We hope that our cooperation with the University will last as long as possible, and that joint activities will contribute to improving the quality of education and preparing students for work in the dynamically developing IT industry.
