Our news

As part of the monthly internal meetup at Blumilk, we had the pleasure of listening to our teammate, Karol Zygadło, who shared his knowledge about Arch Linux.

#ArchLinux is a distribution that, despite its reputation as a demanding system, offers extremely wide personalization options. It is an ideal choice for those who value full control over their work environment.

In his presentation, Karol drew attention to several key aspects that define Arch Linux:

  • Key principles: Arch Linux is based on the principles of simplicity, modernity, pragmatism, user centrality and versatility, which ensure flexibility and modernity in the use of the system.
  • Rolling release model: With this model, users can enjoy regular updates, eliminating the need for full system version updates. This approach allows you to stay up to date with the latest features and fixes.
  • Pacman: Pacman package manager allows you to easily install, remove and update software from repositories. Its simplicity and efficiency are one of the key advantages of Arch Linux.

Arch Linux is an excellent choice for people who want to fully customize the system to their individual needs. While it may be demanding at first, it offers a deep understanding of how Linux works and the satisfaction of having complete control over every aspect of the work environment.

Thanks Karol for the inspiring presentation and valuable tips!

Another dose of knowledge in September!

The second round of internships at Blumilk began today!

Over the next two months, our ranks will be joined by talented students of the Faculty of Technical and Economic Sciences, majoring in Computer Science, with specialization in Mobile and Internet Application Programming, Collegium Witelon State University.

We warmly welcome Dominik Purgal, Dominik Prabucki, Mykyta Mykulskyi.

We look forward to working together. We face common challenges and projects that will certainly bring many benefits and satisfaction.

We wish you fruitful practices and much success!

Is it worth using humor in the application?
This question was one of the key topics raised by our software tester, Ewelina Skrzypacz, during the monthly internal meetup at Blumilek. Ewelina focused on issues related to UX writing and the importance of writing appropriate messages in applications.

Here's what we found out:

  • How to write success and error messages well? – Ewelina shared tips on how to create clear and understandable messages that help users fully understand activities in the application and quickly react in the event of errors.
  • How do users read websites? – We learned several key principles about how users process content on websites, which allows for better text design and makes them more engaging.
  •  Is it worth using humor in the application? – Ewelina presented arguments for and against the use of humorous elements in the application's communication. It turned out that although humor can increase engagement, it is not always a good solution. It may be perceived differently by users, which may lead to misunderstandings or frustration in some contexts.

Understanding UX writing is crucial to creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. Good messaging not only improves the user experience, but also reduces frustration and increases engagement. Knowing how users read websites allows for better content design, which leads to more effective communication.

We are already curious about what will happen at the next meetup!

This is the fourth year in a row that we have the pleasure of enabling students to gain valuable experience in our company. We are extremely proud of the achievements of our interns, who this year had the opportunity to carry out various projects, enriching their knowledge and skills that will serve them in the future.

Students of Collegium Witelon State University did great work, and here are some of them and their achievements: Jakub Kermes and Piotr Fedak - They worked on the BLT package, which makes it easier to test Laravel applications. It is worth adding that Piotr has chosen Blumilk for the second time as the place of his practice, which is a great honor for us. Bartosz Tracz – He also returned to our team, where he worked on a package for creating heatmaps, contributing to the enrichment of our analytical tools.  Paweł Orłowski and Wiktor Wojciechowski – They co-created the frontend and backend in an application for displaying action logs from GitHub, demonstrating their skills in the full application development cycle.

Each of the interns emphasized how important the possibility of teamwork, flexible hours and support from experienced programmers were to them. We are glad that we could provide this to them and contribute to their professional development!

Thank you all for your commitment and great work! We are already looking forward to the second round of internships, which starts on August 1. This will be another opportunity to develop together and gain new experiences.

See you in August!

We took a company break from our daily work at our desks and spent a day full of adventures at Fort Przygody.

Some of us experienced excitement on the paintball field, where adrenaline reached its peak, others sped through bumps on quads, feeling the wind in their hair and the thrill of excitement, and still others devoted themselves to solving puzzles in board games, facing intellectual challenges. We ended it all with a joint feast by the campfire, where we shared our impressions and laughed as much as we wanted.

Days like these remind us how important it is to catch your breath and spend time together outside the office. Thanks to these shared moments, our batteries were charged, our strength regenerated, and we start the week with new energy and enthusiasm for work!

Thank you all for your active participation and fantastic fun!

We can't wait for more adventures together.

SoDA - Software Development Association Poland - Garden Party is definitely an understatement!

Last night, networking gained a new dimension, and the energy and commitment of the participants made this meeting truly exceptional. Thanks to your activity and enthusiasm, such events become unforgettable experiences. We are glad that we could be part of this fantastic atmosphere!

Thank you for all the inspiring conversations, interesting discussions and positive impressions. We are already looking forward to the next meetings, which will be equally successful and full of new opportunities.

Warmest greetings to everyone with whom we had the pleasure of exchanging experiences and high-fiving!

See you at the next SoDA events!
